The workshops and gala show will be LIVE in-person, no virtual workshops or virtual show.

ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE ON EVENTBRITE. CAN ALSO BE FOUND ON REGISTRATION PAGE.

ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE—You may sell your ticket and must inform Shimmy Shakedown organizers of individual who purchased your workshop(s) and/or gala show ticket(s). In the event of schedule changes, refunds will not be issued. While we do our best to maintain the schedule, sometimes changes occur beyond our control, and we appreciate your understanding.

Performance Opportunity

Would you like to perform in our Spectacular Gala Show? We have TWO exciting options! Please read below for details:

OPPORTUNITY #1: Performance Solo (SOLD-OUT!!)

To perform your solo in the Gala Show, please purchase the VIP Package and pay an additional performance fee of $150.

VIP Package + Performance Fee of $150 includes:

• All workshops (14.5 hours)

• Three performance photos of your choice

• Your solo performance video

Please note that the VIP Package must be paid in full and is non-refundable. There is no payment plan available for the 'Performance Solo' interest.

We are looking for a variety of Middle Eastern Dance Arts, including folklore, classic, modern, and fusion styles.

ELIGIBILITY:

• Oriental Dance experience of 5 years or more.

• Time limit for music is 4 minutes minimum, maximum 5 minutes.

• Deadline to submit your music is on Sunday, March 2, 2025, to ShimmyShakedownTeam@gmail.com.

GENERAL CONDUCT:

• Performers must wear a proper dance garment, including under garment.

• Performers must use cover-up before and after their performance.

• Performers, please arrive on time. Unfortunately, if you arrive late, we won’t be able to include you in the performance, as it would disrupt the show schedule.

• If choosing to perform in Shimmy Shakedown’s Gala Show, you agree not to participate in any local showcases in LA or OC for one month before and one month after the event.

• By performing in the gala show, you agree to remain until after the finale. We understand you may have other commitments, but please plan accordingly, as we want all dancers to stay for the final bow. Thank you for your understanding.

• The organizers reserve the right to remove any artist whose behavior is disruptive or negatively impacts fellow performers, the audience, or the event staff. We appreciate your professionalism and respect for the event.

  
  

OPPORTUNITY #2: Latin Fusion Drum Solo Group Performance with Jizzelle

Hi there! Jizzelle here :) I’m thrilled to offer dancers the chance to learn and perform a dynamic Latin fusion drum solo that I taught back in March 2024. Whether you previously learned the choreography or are eager to learn it anew for a stage performance, this opportunity is for you!

Details:

• Fee: $100 (includes one ticket entry to attend the Gala Show).

• Rehearsals: We'll meet once a month on Zoom starting in early January 2025.

• Onstage Rehearsal: The final rehearsal will be held on the day of the Gala Show, in-person.

Don't worry! I'll send you a link to the breakdown and choreography so you can learn and practice in advance.

Requirements:

• Oriental Dance Experience of 3 years or more.

• Purchase one or more workshops.

• Pay the $100 drum solo group fee by Sunday, December 15, 2024.

• Must submit a video link monthly of you performing the choreography. I will provide individual feedback each time.

• Positive and passionate attitude.
